About: "The trio of short films exposes various struggles that LGBTQ+ individuals face today, including discrimination in housing and employment and a lack of safety. ... The project includes three compelling spots, each contrasting an idealized aspect of the 'American dream' with the harsh American reality that many LGBTQ+ individuals experience. The hero spot, 'A Place to Call Home,' highlights the fact that LGBTQ+ individuals can be denied housing in over 50% of US states. Another spot, 'The Freedom to Live in Safety,' lays bare the reality that LGBTQ+ people are nearly four times more likely to be victims of violent crime. The final spot, 'The Opportunity to Work for a Better Life,' reveals that 50% of LGBTQ+ individuals have faced harassment, been fired or denied promotions at work due to their identity. Each ad spotlights LoveHasNoLabels.com, where visitors can learn about the legal protections – or lack thereof – in their state, hear personal stories from LGBTQ+ individuals about their experiences with discrimination and find resources to help create more accepting communities" (Kemp, A., 2024).
