About: "Frank Capra
[Wikipedia] produced a series of science films for Bell Laboratories
[Wikipedia] including: Our Mr. Sun (1956), Hemo the Magnificent (1957), The Strange Case of the Cosmic Rays (1957), and Meteora: The Unchained Goddess (1958).
It was in the ‘Unchained Goddess series that he focused an episode on climate science."

Further to this: "The Gulf Stream system could collapse as soon as 2025, a new study suggests. The shutting down of the vital ocean currents, called the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (Amoc)
[Wikipedia] by scientists, would bring catastrophic climate impacts.
Amoc was already known to be at its weakest in 1,600 years owing to global heating and researchers spotted warning signs of a tipping point in 2021.
The new analysis estimates a timescale for the collapse of between 2025 and 2095, with a central estimate of 2050, if global carbon emissions are not reduced. Evidence from past collapses indicates changes of temperature of 10C in a few decades, although these occurred during ice ages" (Carrington, D., 2023).
Further to this: "In 1856, an American woman named Eunice Newton Foote
[skeet] conducted a series of homespun experiments. She set up 30-inch-long cylinders, each with a thermometer inside, and each filled with different gases and gaseous mixtures — moist air, dry air, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and hydrogen. Foote placed the cylinders in the sun and charted how the gases warmed. The cylinder containing carbon dioxide warmed the most, she noted, and stayed at its high temperature for a long time after she took it out of the sun" (Joosse, T., 2023).
Further to this: "Have you ever seen those viral images on Twitter or Facebook that show Time magazine covers warning of global cooling? I see them at least a few times a month, but I’m never sure whether they’re real. As it turns out, most don’t depict what they claim to depict.
The version of the image I’ve included below, which I saw on Twitter on Tuesday, was shared by someone named Dr. Simon Goddek who has over 300,000 followers on the social media platform. Goddek claims to be a scientist based in Brazil and posted the image, which includes eight Time magazine covers from over the years.
But anyone with knowledge about the energy crisis of the 1970s can probably guess what’s going on here" (Novak, M., 2023).

COAL CONSUMPTION AFFECT-ING CLIMATE. -
The furnaces of the world are now burning about 2,000,000,000 tons of coal a year. When this is burned, uniting with oxygen, it adds about 7,000,000,000 tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere yearly. This tends to make the air a more effective blanket for the earth and to raise its temperature. The effect may be considerable in a few centuries."
